So I'm going to back track a bit to provide you with a basic understanding of my curriculum format. Utilizing the Metropolitan Museum of Art's website and floor plan (MET Map), students will be guided through a variety of visual art categories. We started in the American Wing, have also explored the Egyptian Wing, and are now moving into The Great Hall. We delve into each category and learn about topics such as art history, culture, environmental factors, artists, and medium in relation to the category. The projects brought home are just a small taste of what we learn about in art class.
Currently, in The Great Hall we are delving into the great artists and designers. We are looking at every type and style including car design, home design, interior design, fashion design, great painters, architects, glass blowers, builders, and so much more. My goal is for students to better understand the people and careers that create the world around us...art is everywhere!
